If your child is anxious or afraid when visiting the dentist, we can provide them with pediatric sedation treatments to help them stay calm and receive the care they need. There are several types of sedation for children available, and our dentists will discuss your child’s oral health needs and comfort levels with you to determine which form of sedation will be most beneficial for them. One of the forms of sedation that is commonly recommended for children is nitrous oxide (N2O), also known as “laughing gas.” Nitrous oxide is a form of conscious sedation, which allows your child to stay awake and follow instructions while also remaining relaxed and calm. We also offer oral sedation, taken as a liquid or pill, which is another conscious sedation option.

We take your child’s health, safety and comfort very seriously, and we will monitor them closely during and after their appointment. We will also provide you with detailed instructions to help you and your child prepare for their sedation appointment. We are committed to making sure your child has a positive experience in the dental office and receives the care they need to enjoy a healthy mouth and smile.

Please remember that after your child’s appointment they will feel groggy and drowsy. Someone will need to be available to stay with your child for several hours following their treatment to monitor them.
